When did you become a full-time creator?
Since 2012, I have been creating content as a side passion while working multiple jobs. I lost my job during the COVID-19 and with more time on my hands, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue content creation full time. It was a difficult decision, especially given the uncertainty of the pandemic, but I was determined to turn my passion into a career. As things started to improve and job opportunities began to arise again, I realized that I didn’t want to go back to a traditional job. Instead, I took a risk on myself and have been creating content ever since. It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to pursue my dreams.
What do you use to edit your photos?
For photo editing, I use Adobe Lightroom to add brightness and saturation to make my feed look super colorful. I also use the Facetune App to get rid of any imperfections and clean up areas. If I need to remove shadows or people in the background, I use Retouch.
What do you use to edit your videos?
For short videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok, I always use InShot for editing. It’s easy to use and has a lot of great features. If I need more complex editing or fonts, I use CapCut.
How do you achieve a consistent aesthetic across your social media feeds?
I believe that a consistent aesthetic is key to building a strong personal brand. I usually stick to the same editing style across all of my posts! Using Pinterest I was able to find images and photos that inspired me to help find that aesthetic
What tips do you have for people who are just starting out with photo or video editing?
My biggest tip for beginners is to experiment as much as possible! The best part about starting out is you can TRY anything! Try out different filters, color palettes, and editing styles until you find something that works for you.
How to be consistent with content creation?
First, think about what your dreams are & where you want to see yourself. Let this be your fuel to get to where you need to be. Your mindset has to change, push aside any doubt from others & yourself and believe that your going to do it! Make small goals first, things don’t happen overnight, take the time to learn and appreciate the journey. Lastly PUT IN THE WORK! Sometimes your going to have to sacrifice your time and energy but in the end it will be worth it.
What was your biggest achievement since becoming a creator?
Having my first in person event was definitely one of my favourite moments this year! It really showed me how important community is and being able to connect with like minded people in real life is something so beautiful. I think sometimes we always get caught up with numbers/followers and don’t realize how much real support we have.
How do you come up with ideas for your photo and video content?
Inspiration can come from many places, mainly Pinterest. I always create mood boards for every occasion and event.
